Friends of Baucau Sponsoring December Welcome Dinner!


You are invited to attend the Melbourne East Timorese Activity Centre (METAC) Welcome Dinner. The December Dinner is the last of the year and is being sponsored by Friends of Baucau.
There will be a CD launch by supporters of the Fuan Nabilan Centre in Same, Timor-Leste and music by members of the Dili Allstars.

Friends of Baucau Community Meeting 17 November

There will be opportunities to purchase Tais and other Timorese handicrafts prior to Christmas, the Friends of Baucau Inc will provide an update on their activities and there will be light refreshments.

Thornbury Women's Neighbourhood House - Women's Dinner

Thornbury Women's Neighbourhood House - Women's Dinner may be of interest to some of you if for no other reason than that the guest speaker is Annie Keogh, who many Friends of Timor-Leste will know.

Annie is a local resident recently returned from Timor-Leste after 8 years. Annie worked with many organisations to help set up education and training while she lived in East Timor. At the dinner she will share her story about being in East Timor during the early years of this new nation.

Pan African Choir
This popular choir has worked with many of Melbourne’s African musicians. A community choir run by directors Jen Skate & Chris Lesser, the choir fundraises to support the International needs Adidome project, which helps to liberate Ghanaian women who have been taken into a life of slavery. Join the choir in some African dancing!
